About  Jennifer

I am registered Psychotherapist and a certified Clinical Supervisor. I started my educational journey by completing two Undergraduate Degrees in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Ottawa. I then went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Educational Counselling in 2005. I have been working in the mental health field in Ottawa for over 15 years which has included internships at The Royal Ottawa Hospital and Crossroads Children Centre. I worked for several years in agencies and within the education system before starting my own private practice. I grew up in the Ottawa region and currently reside here with my partner and two young children. When I’m not at my clinic you can find me enjoying time outdoors, paddle-boarding, cycling, reading a new book, or playing a game of softball. 

 

I love doing additional research to custom-tailor treatment plans to my patients’ needs. I stay up to date in my field by regularly attending workshops regarding evidence-based practices. This is a requirement for me to maintain my designation, but also fulfils my love for learning. I have attended multiple continued learning trainings on topics such as: Trauma Assessment and Intervention, Interventions for Clinical Depression, Mindfulness Training, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Practical Strategies for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Clinical Approaches to treating Body Image Issues and Binge Eating Disorder, Certificate program in Clinical Anxiety Treatment, Polyvagal Theory Master Class. and Treatment for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours. 

 

I take a holistic approach to therapy and I integrate all of my previous training and background to give you a personalized experience. Finding the right therapist can be difficult, and I do my best to meet my clients where they’re at, and provide them with the individualized counselling experience they’re searching for.
